About JC Smart Power

Intelligent energy storage. Practical local support.

Energy storage and management solutions for commercial, industrial and residential customers in Greater Vancouver, British Columbia.

Who we are

JC Smart Power provides battery storage and energy management solutions for commercial and industrial customers in Greater Vancouver, British Columbia. Residential backup is also considered for suitable projects.

We help customers assess electricity costs, plan backup for selected essential equipment and make better use of energy on site. EV charging and solar integration are assessed according to site requirements.

Equipment selection and project planning are guided by technical assessment and applicable requirements. The scope of support is confirmed for each project.

Integrated energy solutions

Tailored battery storage

Explore battery energy storage systems (BESS) for peak demand management and backup for selected equipment. The right configuration depends on your load profile, site conditions and electrical requirements.

Energy management and integration

Coordinate compatible solar PV, batteries and controls for more effective electricity use. Monitoring and utility program participation depend on equipment capabilities and program requirements.

Project lifecycle support

Support for project planning, applicable permits and grid connection requirements, deployment and ongoing service. The scope of support is agreed for each project.

What matters to our customers

Manage electricity costs

Evaluate peak demand management and electricity use strategies against your actual bills and rate plan. Potential savings are assessed for your site.

Support business continuity

Plan backup power for selected critical equipment. Switching performance, capacity and backup duration depend on system design and connected loads.

Explore demand response opportunities

Assess eligible utility programs and compatible equipment. Participation and potential benefits depend on program rules and project approval.

Identify applicable incentives

Help identify relevant BC Hydro incentives and prepare application materials. Applicable federal tax credits should be reviewed with your tax advisor. Eligibility and amounts depend on the project and current rules.

Mission and vision

Powering the Future Together.

Our mission

Help customers use energy efficiently and develop practical, resilient power solutions.

Our vision

Support a cleaner, more flexible energy future through the responsible adoption of solar power, battery storage and smart controls.

Each project is assessed individually. Equipment configuration, potential savings, backup capability and service arrangements are confirmed through project assessment and agreed scope. Permits, utility approvals and incentives are determined by the relevant authorities and program rules.

A CLEARER START

Which energy solution fits your site?

Start with the questions that affect your decision. The right system follows your electricity use and business priorities.

What customers ask

Is my property a good fit?

Solar and battery storage can be assessed separately or together. Solar needs suitable space for generation; storage can also be considered without solar, subject to electricity use, equipment space and electrical requirements. Consider how long you expect to use the site. Tenants should clarify owner permission and who pays for electricity and receives the benefits.

What will it cost, and when could it pay back?

A useful comparison includes installed cost, estimated bill savings, eligible export credits, maintenance and future replacement costs. Estimates should use your actual bills, load profile and rate plan. A proposal should show its assumptions and what is included in the quote.

Will everything keep running during an outage?

Backup needs a system designed for it, with selected circuits and appropriate switching equipment. Confirm which equipment is supported, its starting power, transfer time and runtime. Solar panels alone usually do not keep a site powered during an outage.

BC Hydro: backup during outages
How does selling surplus electricity work?

Eligible surplus renewable generation exported under BC Hydro RS 2289 receives CA$0.10/kWh in monetary bill credits. Eligibility, export limits and grid approval apply. Credits offset Energy Charges; other bill charges still apply. This is not a fixed cash-income promise.

BC Hydro: self-generation and rates
Will an energy system increase my property's market value?

It adds generation or storage capability and can support the property's operational use. Any change in sale price, rent or valuation needs independent assessment. Treat energy savings and market appreciation as separate questions.

Will installation disrupt my operations?

Discuss equipment locations, access and delivery routes, work areas and whether the electrical connection needs a planned shutdown. Agree any shutdown window and expected impact in advance, and coordinate work with your operating hours. The installation plan should reflect your site and the agreed project scope.

What should be confirmed before installation?

Confirm the written quote, equipment, permits and utility requirements, installation scope, acceptance checks, warranty and ongoing support. The schedule depends on site conditions, equipment availability and applicable approvals; it should be discussed for your project.

Are the pictures completed JC Smart Power projects?

The industry pages show application scenarios and reference images. They are clearly labelled and are not presented as completed JC Smart Power projects. Ask about project status and what supporting information can be shared during your discussion.

How your project starts

  1. Tell us what matters

Share your location, property type and goal: electricity costs, solar use or backup for specific equipment.

  2. Assess your site

Agree the assessment scope, then review electricity use, site conditions, system options and estimated costs and benefits.

  3. Confirm the scope

Clarify the quote, approvals, installation, acceptance, warranty and support before arranging implementation.
