Everyday electricity needs
Food production depends on consistent power, precise timing, and reliable equipment. From commercial ovens and food preparation machinery to refrigeration and packaging lines, electricity plays a critical role in keeping production on schedule. Unexpected interruptions can lead to lost production time, wasted ingredients, and costly restarts.
What the solution can do
Our energy storage solutions are designed to support more efficient electricity use while helping protect selected critical production equipment. Battery systems can help manage peak demand created when multiple production machines operate simultaneously. With appropriate backup design, they may also support essential equipment during temporary outages.
What to check for your site
Production loads and operating schedules
Equipment starting demand and backup needs
Illustrative application — not a completed JC project
A central kitchen supplying several restaurants prepares meals during early morning production shifts. Commercial cooking equipment, ventilation systems, and refrigeration units may operate simultaneously, creating concentrated electricity demand. JC Smart Power can evaluate these production cycles and develop a battery storage strategy that balances peak demand management with operational resilience.
Discuss your site requirements

Start with the questions that affect your decision. The right system follows your electricity use and business priorities.
What customers ask
Is my property a good fit?
Solar and battery storage can be assessed separately or together. Solar needs suitable space for generation; storage can also be considered without solar, subject to electricity use, equipment space and electrical requirements. Consider how long you expect to use the site. Tenants should clarify owner permission and who pays for electricity and receives the benefits.
What will it cost, and when could it pay back?
A useful comparison includes installed cost, estimated bill savings, eligible export credits, maintenance and future replacement costs. Estimates should use your actual bills, load profile and rate plan. A proposal should show its assumptions and what is included in the quote.
Will everything keep running during an outage?
Backup needs a system designed for it, with selected circuits and appropriate switching equipment. Confirm which equipment is supported, its starting power, transfer time and runtime. Solar panels alone usually do not keep a site powered during an outage.
Eligible surplus renewable generation exported under BC Hydro RS 2289 receives CA$0.10/kWh in monetary bill credits. Eligibility, export limits and grid approval apply. Credits offset Energy Charges; other bill charges still apply. This is not a fixed cash-income promise.
Will an energy system increase my property's market value?
It adds generation or storage capability and can support the property's operational use. Any change in sale price, rent or valuation needs independent assessment. Treat energy savings and market appreciation as separate questions.
Will installation disrupt my operations?
Discuss equipment locations, access and delivery routes, work areas and whether the electrical connection needs a planned shutdown. Agree any shutdown window and expected impact in advance, and coordinate work with your operating hours. The installation plan should reflect your site and the agreed project scope.
What should be confirmed before installation?
Confirm the written quote, equipment, permits and utility requirements, installation scope, acceptance checks, warranty and ongoing support. The schedule depends on site conditions, equipment availability and applicable approvals; it should be discussed for your project.
Are the pictures completed JC Smart Power projects?
The industry pages show application scenarios and reference images. They are clearly labelled and are not presented as completed JC Smart Power projects. Ask about project status and what supporting information can be shared during your discussion.
